New Canaan Hires New Town Planner

NEW CANAAN, CT—The town has hired Steve Palmer as the new town planner effective Nov. 14.

Palmer was a longtime Planning and Zoning director in Bethel and joined Westport's department in April, according to the New Canaanite.

Bethel in many ways is similar to New Canaan in terms of population size and downtown activity, Palmer said.

A total of 21 applications were filed for the job that was vacated by Steve Kleppin and three finalist were considered.
