New Canaan Hires Trumbull Native As New Police Officer
He participated in the Fall 2019 recruitment process for Entry Level Police Officer with the New Canaan Police Department.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Nicholas Falbo, a 23-year-old Trumbull native, is the New Canaan Police Department's newest police officer, scheduled to be sworn in during a ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 in the Town Hall Board Room.
Falbo participated in the Fall 2019 recruitment process for Entry Level Police Officer with the department, and was one of more than 50 candidates that submitted eligible applications for employment.
"Nicholas successfully endured an intensive testing and selection process including a written examination, physical agility testing, interview panel, polygraph, psychological evaluation, background investigation, medical testing, and Police Commission interview," officials said in a statement.

Falbo is a graduate from Trumbull High School, and obtained an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Housatonic Community College. Most recently, he was employed by Macy’s in Milford, where he worked as an Asset Prevention Detective.
He will begin his recruit training on Jan. 10 at the Connecticut Police Academy’s 368th training session in Meriden, and the tentative graduation date for that class is during the week of June 29.

After training at the academy, Falbo will undergo a minimum of 400 hours of field training with the New Canaan Police Department before being certified as a Probationary Police Officer.
