New Canaan Historical Society Plans 125th Anniversary Gala
For car aficionados, the daylong series of events will sure to please with tours of private collections in the region.

The New Canaan Historical Society is planning to celebrate its 125th anniversary in grand style next month.
‘House of Cars,’ Collector’s Grand Tour 2015 will include a tour and rally to significant car collector garages throughout the day followed by a gala at Collectors Car Garage in Bedford Hills, NY.
The day and evening long series of events on Saturday, Sept. 12 will feature actor and car aficionado Patrick Dempsey, Velocity TV’s Wayne Carini, NBC car racing announcer David Hobbs.

The day will start that Saturday morning with ‘Fuel Up’ breakfast at Miller Motorcars Stamford garage (limited to 100 guests) with a collection of exotic cars on display hosted by Wayne Carini of Velocity Channel’s ‘Chasing Classic Cars.’
For the late morning and afternoon there will be curated tours of select private collection of cars and motorcycles. Guests will be given maps and visiting order to limit the number of guests at any one time to 20 per location.

There will be a ‘Pit Stop’ boxed picnic lunch for the road tours that are located throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties.
The day will culminate with a gala celebration at Collectors’ Car Garage, Bedford Hills, NY that will be limited to 200 guests. Cocktails and a seated dinner will be served amid a large collection of exotic, vintage and unique cars. Actor Dempsey, AKA Dr. McDreamy of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and noted Porsche racer, will attend and interviewed by emcee David Hobbs, NBC Formula One announcer and accomplished racer.
There also will be a live auction. Lead sponsors are Miller Motorcars of Greenwich and Chubb/Brown Thayer Shedd, along with other luxury sponsors, world-class cars and high profile speakers.
