New Canaan Hit With Water Main Break Saturday: Aquarion

About 50 customers have been impacted, according to the water company.

NEW CANAAN, CT — An 8-inch water main ruptured in New Canaan on Saturday morning, which is affecting about 50 customers on eight streets, according to Aquarion Water Company.

Crews are repairing the break, which occurred on Old Norwalk Road, and service is expected to be fully restored between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

  • Lincoln Drive
  • Hollywood Avenue
  • Holly Road
  • Old Kings Highway
  • Birchwood Avenue
  • Anthony Lane
  • Shaker Road

"During and after the outage event, some customers may experience discolored water," wrote Aquarion in a statement. "You may want to use stored water for drinking and cooking, and delay clothes washing until water is clear. Run your cold water faucet until the water appears clear, prior to resuming use for these purposes."
