New Canaan Holiday Stroll Details Released
The downtown celebration includes Friday evening shopping and entertainment, followed by Saturday visits with Santa.
New Canaan's Holiday Stroll will return downtown Friday, Dec. 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce. The evening will include shopping, performances by young local talent, food and opportunities to take selfies with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Local merchants started the event 22 years ago, according to the chamber. The chamber describes the Stroll as New Canaan's answer to “Small Business Saturday” and encourages shoppers to “think local first” when buying holiday gifts.
Families can return Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to visit Santa at Houlihan Lawrence, 161 Elm St. A magician making balloon animals will entertain children while they wait to share their wish lists with Santa, according to the chamber.
