New Canaan Homeowner Seeks Damages from Town for Tree Removal

The homeowner contends that no hearing had been held in violation of a state law prior to limbs being cut.

NEW CANAAN, CT- A Country Club Road homeowner wants monetary damages from the town after limbs were removed from a tree on her property, according to a lawsuit.

Eversource began cutting the limbs off one tree without any hearing, according to the New Canaanite.

Eversource stopped cutting the limbs almost immediately after the homeowner emailed the tree warden. The homeowner contends that the tree will almost certainly die because almost every limb had been cut off.

The owner's objection to remove two trees was turned down by New Canaan's tree warden after a hearing was held.
