New Canaan Issues Coyote Warning
A resident and a dog had a close encounter with a coyote recently.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A resident and a dog had a close encounter with a coyote on Autumn Lane Tuesday.
The owner was able to use hazing techniques to scare the coyote away around 6:45 a.m.
New Canaan Police advise residents to be aware that coyotes can be active during the day. Residents can obtain coyote hazing kits to scare off the animals by calling New Canaan Animal Control at 203-594-3510.

Police also advise residents to have their dogs under supervision at all times and to secure any potential food sources.
