
New Canaan K-9 Apollo helped locate drugs during a recent vehicle stop, according to police.
An officer stopped a vehicle on Old Stamford Road July 29 after observing heavily-tinted windows, according to police.
The operator didn’t have a DMV inspection sticker for the aftermarket tints. The officer also smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked the operator if there was any present, police said.

The operator said he had it a few days ago.
K-9 Apollo was requested to the scene to help search the vehicle. He found a box in the center console that contained drug paraphernalia, marijuana residue and two yellow pills that were later determined to be ecstasy, police said.

Operator Edwin Marroquin, 23, of Stamford was arrested and charged with possession of a hallucinogenic substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, interfering with an officer. He was also issued an infraction for the tints.
