New Canaan Launches New Website For Waveny House Weddings, Events

NEW CANAAN, CT — To promote numerous recent improvements in and around the Waveny House mansion and its availability as a premier venue for weddings and other events, New Canaan has launched a new dedicated website.

The website, www.WavenyHouseEvents.com, provides vivid photos of the mansion, designed by renowned architect William B. Tubbs.

According to a news release provided by the town, the mansion features vintage grand halls and elegant rooms opening onto the expansive patios with broad views overlooking great lawns and picturesque gardens originally designed by the Olmstead Brothers firm.

Also introduced throughout the website is new Waveny House branding that showcases the timeless quatrefoil decorative element found throughout the mansion in stonework, paneling, windows, lighting fixtures and fireplace mantles, according to the town.

Constructed in 1912 for the Lewis Lapham family, Waveny House overlooks 275 acres of countryside and represents the culture, community and history of the town. The property was acquired by the town in 1967 and became the heart of the community, welcoming all to be together, connect and celebrate, according to the town.

Waveny House has long been a cherished venue for local events and weddings, and the new website and branding are a symbol of continuing town capital improvements that have enhanced the mansion and surrounding grounds, according to the town.

In partnership with the Waveny Park Conservancy, the town has restored and improved the entrance forecourt, walkways, walled garden and surrounding pond and meadows over the last five years.

The town has also hired a dedicated wedding coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for brides and event sponsors for weddings and other events held at Waveny.
