New Canaan Public, Private Schools Decide On Friday's Schedule
New Canaan public and private schools were closed both Wednesday and Thursday due to the snow storm.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Public Schools will be closed again on Friday, March 9, the third day in a row as the town continues to grapple with the aftermath from Wednesday's snow storm, according to Schools Superintendent Dr. Bryan Luizzi.
Both New Canaan Country School and St. Luke’s School also will be closed on Friday, according to statements on their websites.
"This at the request of the New Canaan Office of Emergency Management due to the aftermath of the storm," wrote St. Luke's officials.

Due to the extensive damage caused by WS Quinn, the New Canaan Public Schools will remain closed on Friday, 3/9/18. There are approx. 190 roads impacted by downed trees and power lines, and the cleanup crews are working to safely secure, clear, and repair each incident #NCPSBest

Dozens of roads remain blocked by downed trees and wires, according to police officials, as crews continue their efforts to clear streets and restore power.

As of 11:17 p.m. on Thursday, more than 1,300 Eversource customers in New Canaan were without power, according to the utility company.
