NEW CANAAN, CT — A New Canaan man accused of possessing child pornography was arrested this week following a three-month investigation, according to police.

Quinten Yonkers, 24, was charged Wednesday with first-degree illegal possession of child pornography and promoting minor-obscene performance, according to police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said the department received a "cyber tip" from the Internet Crimes Against Children Data System on May 17 regarding internet activity in town deemed to be child pornography.

According to Ferraro, members of the department's investigative section belong to the federally funded ICAC task force, which consists of state and local investigators.

After receiving the cyber tip, police launched an investigation and later identified Yonkers as a suspect, Ferraro said.

Officers then executed multiple search warrants, including one at Yonkers's home, and seized items such as cell phones and computers, which were forensically examined, Ferraro said.

According to Ferraro, evidence collected from the forensic examinations, including images and videos of child pornography, supported the cyber tip and officers obtained a warrant for Yonkers' arrest.

Yonkers was arrested on a warrant Wednesday at his home in New Canaan, Ferraro said.
