New Canaan Man Arrested On Narcotics Charges: Police
While investigating another case, officers allegedly found narcotics "in plain view."

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 33-year-old New Canaan man was arrested on warrant this week charging him with narcotics violations after officers found a stash of marijuana in his possession while police were investigating a death at the same location, according to authorities.
Back on Feb. 12, New Canaan officers responded to a home on River Road on a report of an elderly person who died at the residence.
"Investigators discovered in plain view a large amount of marijuana (2.4 ounces) and drug paraphernalia," police stated.

As a result, officers obtained an arrest warrant for John R. Major, of River Road, on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, and use and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Late Monday night, New Canaan police went to Major's home and took him into custody, and again, officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia "in plain view," for which he was also issued an infraction.
