New Canaan Man Busted On DUI, Interfering With An Officer Charges

The incident occurred on Tuesday night, according to New Canaan police.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 53-year-old New Canaan man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and interfering with an officer after he was clocked allegedly driving 52 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone on Main Street in New Canaan on Dec. 11, according to authorities.

Steven Larkin was stopped in the driveway of his Summer Street home just before 10 p.m. after an officer allegedly saw him speeding.

"Upon speaking with Larkin, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Larkin's breath," stated New Canaan police.

After Larkin failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the officer tried to place handcuffs on Larkin but he allegedly resisted, prompting the interfering with an officer charge.

At police headquarters, Larkin refused to submit to blood alcohol content testing. He was released after posting bond on bail of $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 26.
