New Canaan Man Qualifies for NCAA Track Championship
James Randon has had an astounding track season as Yale this yea. Earlier this year he broke the 4-minute mile barrier.

NEW CANAAN, CT- New Canaan resident James Randon qualified for the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Ore.
Randon finished fifth in his heat for the 1,500-meter run, according to Yale Sports Publicity. Randon is a junior at Yale.
It was far from a piece of cake for Randon to qualify. After the first 1,100 meters of the race all 12 runners were within 1.2 seconds of each other. Randon turned up the heat and ran the last 400 meters in less than 57 seconds to finish with a time of 3:47:01.

The championship begins June 8.
