New Canaan Election 2017 Results: Moynihan, Republicans Win Again
The race for First Selectman to replace the outgoing Rob Mallozzi III was razor thin, but otherwise Republicans candidates again dominated.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Republican Kevin Moynihan narrowly defeated Democrat Kit Devereaux Tuesday to win New Canaan's First Selectman's race, according to unofficial results from the Connecticut Secretary of State's Office.
How close was the vote? Moynihan captured 50.31 percent, or 2,688 votes, compared to Devereaux's 49.69 percent, or 2,655 votes. The 33-vote margin was enough for Moynihan to avoid a recount.
In other races, two-term incumbent Republican Town Treasurer Andrew Brooks also was victorious, and Republicans dominated virtually all elected positions.
