New Canaan Needs A Bit More Sleep On Later Start Times: Report
Several Fairfield County communities have either implemented later school start times or are also studying the topic.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Schools Superintendent Dr. Bryan Luizzi recently told the New Canaan Advertiser that the town needs to further study the issue of later start times at the high school to make sure such a change is handled properly.
Several Fairfield County communities have either implemented later school start times or are also studying the topic, some have reported challenges, such as Greenwich. That town has seen an impact on traffic patterns, team sports and other matters and continues to gather information half-a-year into the transition.
Luizzi says he is cognizant of that and despite there being data on how later start times can help students, he wants to ensure that the New Canaan district has thoroughly studied the matter and is comfortable with it should the town adopt the new schedule.
