New Canaan P&Z Director Stepping Down After 10 Months: Report

Steve Palmer held a similar title in Westport before taking the New Canaan position.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Steve Palmer, who left Westport late last year to become New Canaan's Planning and Zoning Director, is now leaving New Canaan after 10 months for an opportunity in a family business, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

During his tenure in New Canaan, Palmer was involved in issues with Grace Farms, a residential complex on Park Street, proposed cell towers, a West Road sober house and others.

His resignation takes effect on Sept. 15, and he was praised by Town Councilman John Engel, a commercial property owner, for his professionalism.
