NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to hold public hearings on various applications during an upcoming meeting scheduled for Tuesday night.

According to a meeting agenda available on the town website, the regular hybrid meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Town Meeting Room at Town Hall, located at 77 Main Street.

Among the items listed on the agenda is a public hearing on a proposed resubdivision of land at 235 Canoe Hill Road to create an additional buildable lot.

The commission is also scheduled to hold a public hearing on a special permit application for 4 Echo Hill Road to allow a 16-foot front yard setback for an addition to the principal structure and a 17-foot front yard setback for a detached accessory garage, in lieu of the 45 feet required for both, in exchange for preserving a historically significant structure in the 2 Acre Zone, according to the agenda.

A public hearing item for 11 Farm Road at Dunning Stadium is listed on the agenda as continued to the commission's Oct. 27 meeting.

According to the agenda, the application seeks modification of an existing special permit to allow new permanent buildings and facilities to install a 24-foot-by-48-foot, four-bay shed for sports equipment storage in lieu of a previously approved storage and bathroom structure at the stadium.

Listed on the regular meeting portion of the agenda is deliberation and possible action on a closed public hearing item, as well as administrative actions or other matters as may properly come before the commission.

Administrative items listed on the agenda include a sign site plan application to allow signage with a trademarked logo in the Business Zone at 175 Elm Street, as well as another sign site plan application to allow the expansion of a detached sign and installation of multiple signs for a new urgent care facility in the Business Zone at 183 Elm Street.

The commission is also expected to discuss Village District Design Guidelines RFP next steps and review its 2027 meeting schedule, according to the agenda.
