New Canaan Police Officers Honored With Awards, Promotions
The New Canaan Police Department recently honored a number of its officers with awards, including "Officer of the Year," and promotions.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Police Department recently honored a number of its officers with during an awards ceremony.
In a Facebook post, police said officers honored during the Feb. 10 ceremony included Louis Gannon, who was promoted to lieutenant, and Thomas Callinan, who was promoted to sergeant.
Additionally, Officer Kelly Coughlin was presented with the 2021 Stephen W. Wood Officer of the Year award.

Other members of the department who received honors included:
- Lt. Joseph Farenga (Perkin Award)
- Sgt. Aaron LaTourette (Commissioner's Shoot Award)
- Officers Bryan Connolly and Christopher Dewey (Chief's Award for Physical Fitness and Commissioner's Award for Physical Fitness)
