New Canaan Police To Participate In Penguin Plunge Event

New Canaan police will participate in a Penguin Plunge event for Special Olympics Connecticut in April and are seeking donations.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Members of the New Canaan Police Department will participate in a Penguin Plunge event for Special Olympics Connecticut next month and are seeking donations.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the event will take place April 2 at Jennings Beach in Fairfield. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the plunge will take place at noon.

The department noted they are participating in the event "in an effort to raise money to support year-round sports, health and wellness programs that build long, happier, healthier lives for people across [Connecticut] with intellectual disabilities."
