New Canaan Police Save Heroin Overdose Victim
Officers arrived within two minutes of being dispatched.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A number of police officers will be issued live saving awards after they helped reverse a heroin overdose in progress.
Police responded to a location in town on a report of an unconscious person and arrived within two minutes of being dispatched, said Chief Leon Krolikowski in a release.
Naloxone was administered to counteract the overdose and other life saving measures were taken. The victim regained consciousness and care was turned over to the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

"New Canaan Police Officers are first responders to all medical emergencies and are able to deliver life-saving treatment within minutes of an emergency call," Krolikowski said.
Police didn't issue further details including the day and location of the incident for privacy reasons.

Silver Hill Hospital helped New Canaan Police become one of the first departments in Fairfield County to be equipped with naloxone.
