New Canaan Police Sergeant, Lieutenant Receive Promotions

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Police Lt. David Payne and Sgt. Rex Sprosta were both recognized for their recent promotions during a ceremony Friday night.

In a Facebook post, police said Payne and Sprosta were both promoted earlier this year, however they were officially recognized during the ceremony with family, police commissioners and fellow officers in attendance.

Additionally, a medical service award was presented to Police Sgt. Aaron LaTourette and officers George Caponera and Annamaria Ceci for life-saving efforts during an overdose incident in town earlier this year, according to police.
