Historic Home Demo: New Canaan Resident Writes Formal Letter Opposing Plan

The owner suggested those who want to keep the property historic buy it.

NEW CANAAN, CT- The town has officially received a formal letter opposing the demolition of a historic home built before the Revolutionary War.

The home at 8 Ferris Hill Road will be the subject of a public hearing in March, according to the New Canaanite.

Owner Max Abel told the New Canaanite that he suggests those who don't want to see it demolished buy the property instead. His original plans called for keeping the historic property while building another building on the land, but neighbors opposed it.

Resident Patricia Oxman wrote the letter and said it would be a terrible loss for the town.
