The town of New Canaan reminds residents to renew their dog licenses for 2022 this month.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The town of New Canaan reminds residents to renew their dog licenses for 2022 this month.
According to a post on the town's Facebook page, Connecticut State Law requires all dogs, age 6 months or older, to be licensed in their town of residency. The fee is $8 for a dog who is spayed or neutered and $19 for a dog who is neither.
Proof of current rabies vaccination and spaying or neutering, if applicable, must be provided at the time of the application. Individuals who renew their dog's license after the June 30 deadline must pay a late fee of $1 per month, town officials said.

Residents can renew their dog's license through "online services" at www.newcanaan.info.
In addition to paying by credit card, Venmo and Paypal are also offered for online renewals. First-time registrants must apply by mail or in-person with a downloaded application that can be found under "dog licensing" on the town clerk's section of the town website.
