New Canaan Rower Races in Olympic Finals
He and his partner competed in the finals of the men's lightweight double sculls event Friday.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL — Less than four seconds stood between a rower from New Canaan and an Olympic medal Friday morning.
Competing in the finals of the men's lightweight double sculls at the Summer Olympic Games, Andrew Campbell, Jr. and partner Joshua Konieczny finished in fifth place with a time of 6:35.07, just 3.68 seconds behind bronze medalist Norway.
France took the gold medal in 6:30.70, while Ireland (6:31.23) captured the silver.

In a different rowing event, Yale graduate Charlie Cole and three teammates earned somewhat of a consolation prize by winning the B-final of the men's coxless four Friday. The U.S. team finished seventh overall in that event.
