New Canaan Selectmen To Consider Purchase Order Increases, Planning And Zoning Fee Schedule Changes: Agenda

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Board of Selectmen is scheduled to consider several requests during its upcoming meeting scheduled for Monday.

According to an agenda available on the town website, the regular hybrid meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.

Among the items listed on the agenda, the board is scheduled to consider a Department of Public Works request to enter into a $157,500 contract with Enviro Express for hauling and disposal of the town's recycling materials.

The board is also scheduled to review a Finance Department request for a number of blanket purchase orders, including $465,000 for Norwalk Hospital EMS, $68,637 for New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance, $25,000 for the New Canaan Historical Society and $32,000 for the Day Care Center of New Canaan, among other items listed on the agenda.

The agenda also includes several Public Works requests, including a number of purchases connected to the Water Pollution Control Facility.

Selectmen are also scheduled to consider a $33,544.68 contract with Hugh's Mechanical Equipment for a project that entails replacing an obsolete 50-gallon diesel day tank for the generator at the sewer plant, according to the agenda.

Other Public Works-related requests include a proposed $38,100 purchase of six lamp posts and fixtures for Waveny Park and town streets from F&M Electric Supply and a $15,000 increase of a previously approved purchase order with East Coast Signs for signs and barricades, according to the agenda.

The board is also scheduled to consider a request from the Planning and Zoning Department for proposed fee schedule changes, which would become effective July 1, according to the agenda.

Parks and Recreation-related items listed on the agenda include a request to increase a previously approved purchase order with Carriere Materials LLC by $4,872 for sand for Kiwanis Beach and a number of blanket purchase orders related to parks operations, pool operations, recreation and miscellaneous items, according to the agenda.

Other items listed on the agenda include approval of employee position changes for Alison Keena as assistant assessor and Kathy Collins as director of Lapham Community Center and appointment of Bernie Clarke as an Aquarion Water Authority Representative Policy Board member for a three-year term ending June 30, 2027.
