New Canaan 'Stepford Wives' Mansion Up For Sale For Nearly $7M: Report
The mansion, which was featured in the 2004 Nicole Kidman film "The Stepford Wives," sits on 4.7 acres of land and offers six bedrooms.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A New Canaan mansion that was featured in the film "The Stepford Wives" is up for sale for nearly $7 million, according to media reports.
The Stamford Advocate reports the mansion, located at 62 Summersweet Lane, is being sold for $6.8 million. Set on 4.7 acres of land that backs up to the New Canaan reservoir, the 14,000-square foot home features six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, a four-car garage and a home gym.
Summersweet Lane is a private road spanning 48 acres with only six houses, according to the Stamford Advocate. "The Stepford Wives," directed by Frank Oz and starring Nicole Kidman and Matthew Broderick, was shot just after the road was built when none of the homes were occupied.

According to Robb Report, the home also features 9 to 12-foot ceilings on every floor and natural sunlight throughout. In addition the gym, the home's lower level offers a spa, recreation room and a movie theater.
Released in 2004 by Paramount Pictures, "The Stepford Wives" also featured Christopher Walken, Bette Midler, Jon Lovitz and country singer Faith Hill in supporting roles.

Based on a 1972 novel by former Wilton resident Ira Levin, the movie also filmed in parts of Norwalk and Greenwich, according to IMDb.
