New Canaan to Stop Dumping Dredge Material in Waveny Cornfields
The operation didn't fit in with the goal of preserving the area, First Selectman Rob Mallozzi said.
New Canaan has decided to stop dumping dredged material into Waveny cornfields.
The town was selling the material to a local business that turned the material taken from Mead and Mill ponds into topsoil, according to the New Canaanite.
First Selectman Rob Mallozzi said that the operation didn’t fit in line with the goal of preserving the location in Waveny.
