New Canaan Students Receive CT Regional Scholastic Art Awards

NEW CANAAN, CT — Thirteen New Canaan High School students received various Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards from the Connecticut Art Education Association, New Canaan Public Schools announced this week.

According to a news release provided by the district, the CAEA announced recipients of the 2026 art awards, which celebrate achievements in technical skill, creativity and personal voice.

Thousands of student entries were judged from across the state, but only a selection of entries in each category were included, awarded and will be displayed at their annual exhibition at the University of Hartford, according to the district.

Thirteen students from New Canaan High School were selected as either honorable mention, silver key or gold key winners.

Senior Isabelle Kelly was awarded a silver key for her art portfolio, "Where Am I Going? Where Have I Been?," and also earned a scholarship to the University of Hartford Art School, according to the district.

Emma McPartland was granted a gold key and the CAEA Arnini Award: Best in Experimental Photography for her photography composite, "Arabesque."

All gold key recipients will advance to the national level of competition.
