New Canaan Teen Cited for Passing Stopped School Bus

A New Canaan girl was cited for passing a school bus at New Canaan High School, the New Canaanite reports.

The girl, 17, passed the school bus while it was stopped, had its stop sign extended and lights flashing.

According to the publication, the teen passed the bus in a Jeep Cherokee on March 31 at around 4 p.m. The bus driver, seeing the Jeep approach, honked but the teen did not stop.

The Jeep was identified via surveillance, the paper reports.

The teen must pay the $460 fine the violation carries or enter a plea by April 17.
