New Canaan Town Council To Discuss Charter Revision, Audit Report During Upcoming Meeting: Agenda

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Town Council is scheduled to further consider recommendations from the town's Charter Revision Commission during an upcoming meeting scheduled for Wednesday night.

According to an agenda available on the town website, the regular hybrid meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room and will also be available for viewing on NCTV Channel 79.

The charter revision item is listed as "further consideration, provision of recommendations and possible vote" on the Charter Revision Commission Draft Report.

The council is also expected to receive an audit report update from the internal audit subcommittee on the town and school report, according to the agenda.

Council members are also scheduled to consider confirming two appointments or reappointments: Alan Badanes as an alternate member of the Board of Finance for a two-year term ending Dec. 1, 2027, and Bernie Clarke as an Aquarion Water Authority Representative Policy Board member for a three-year term ending June 30, 2027, according to the agenda.

The agenda also includes approval of minutes from Town Council regular meetings held April 22 and May 20 and special meetings held May 27 and June 10.

Public comment is listed near the start of the agenda, during which members of the public may speak on agenda topics scheduled for review or vote.

Speakers are asked to provide their name and street address, and comments will be limited to two to three minutes depending on the number of speakers, according to the agenda.
