New Canaan Train Commuters: Waiting Just Got A Little Easier
The town's Parking Bureau recently posted station parking lot wait lists online.

NEW CANAAN, CT — No one likes waiting lists, but finding out where you stand on them can be a plus.
With that in mind, New Canaan commuters can now find out where they rank on the waiting lists for the town's three commuter parking lots, Lumberyard, Richmond Hill and Talmadge Hill.
The New Canaan Parking Bureau this summer posted a new webpage that contains lists for the three lots which carry all of the names who have signed up for each.

"Your position on the wait list is determined by the date you were added to those wait lists," states the bureau. "These lists will be updated on a monthly basis."

As of July 13, the wait list for the Lumberyard lot had 627 names; Richmond Hill, 350 names; and Talmadge Hill, 226 names.
The lists are culled periodically, which can lead to large numbers of drop-offs, Stacy Miltenberg, manager of the New Canaan Parking Bureau, told the New Canaan News.
The last time the lists were culled, which involves contacting the signee to see if they're still interested in remaining on the list, it dropped by half, and another list clean up will be conducted soon.
