New Canaan's Cava Wine Bar Closing In On Reopening Date: Report

The Main Street restaurant has been closed for the past nine months following a fire.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Closed since September of last year following a fire, New Canaan's Cava Wine Bar and Restaurant is expected to reopen sometime in August or September, co-owner and chef Nube Siguenza recently told the New Canaan Advertiser.

Siguenza was reticent to offer a specific date due to the amount of renovation work that still needs to be done, but she is optimistic of a late summer or early fall reopening.

The popular restaurant, located at 96 Main St. in New Canaan, suffered water damage after an electrical short sparked a third-story blaze in the building. Renovations call for a larger bar, which will be moved to the front of the establishment, and a new private room.
