New Canaan's Curt Casali Joins Tampa Bay Rays In Roster Move: Report

The former New Canaan High School catcher had been in the minors.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Tampa Bay Rays have added catcher Curt Casali, recalling the New Canaan native to the Major League Baseball team from the Durham Bulls, its minor league affiliate, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

Casali, who was a standout for the New Canaan High School Rams, has played with the MLB team in prior years, logging a total of more than 150 games with in The Show.

This stint began over the weekend, and Casali will serve as the Rays' third catcher behind Wilson Ramos and Jesus Sucre as the team battles for a Wild Card berth.
