New Canaan's Walgreens Nicked: $70 Worth of Razor Blades Stolen

A large box of razor blades was emptied by a male using the bathroom of the Walgreens store on Pine Street

A young man walked into the Walgreens pharmacy at 36 Pine St. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, and, police suspect, walked out with $70 in razor blades without paying for them.

New Canaan police gave this account of the matter:

The young man, described as tall and wearing a red shirt and blue jeans, entered the store at about 5:30 p.m. and used the bathroom. A store manager found a somewhat large box of razor blades in the bathroom without any blades inside it.

He checked the store’s surveillance video which showed the young man walking into the bathroom with the box but walking out without it.

Police were called at 7:40 p.m., and they think they may recognize the young man. An investigation is continuing.
