New Database Reveals Patient Death, Violations in CT Hospitals
The violations were found at the time of inspection at Connecticut hospitals and the reports are published by the Connecticut Health I-Team.

No one wants to go the hospital, but if you do or if a loved one needs to, you're likely going to want to check out this updated searchable in-depth database prepared by the Connecticut Health-Investigative Team. Newly released inspection reports from state health officials reveal violations at numerous hospitals that compromised patient safety, C-HIT reports.
According to C-HIT, one hospital was cited for several violations that preceded a newborn’s death in 2016 including the fact that oxygen was ordered for the mother during labor but she was never given any.
C-HIT also reports that a colonoscopy pouch was sewn to the wrong part of the patient's colon at a hospital. Other violations cited in hospitals across Connecticut include: a tool left inside a patient's chest after a procedure, a newborn fell from a bassinet while being moved by a nurse, and anesthesia was applied to the wrong eye prior to surgery.

In the first of its kind, the C-HIT team last year compiled a massive database of every hospital in Connecticut and includes reports of violations found during inspections. Now, the C-HIT team has just updated the database, which includes inspections at hospitals in Connecticut from 2016 through the first few months of 2017.
In this database you can read the entire inspection report and violation along with the hospital's corrective action. The inspection reports and violations date back to 2013-2015.
