Newcomers Club Of New Canaan Announces New Board Leadership

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Newcomers Club of New Canaan — an organization dedicated to welcoming new residents to town, planning social events and connecting its members to the New Canaan community — recently announced its new board leadership for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

The 2022-2023 Newcomers Club Board is made up of 60 members and will be led by President Jane Crawford, First Vice President Alexis Faust and Treasurer Dorota Sernicki.

In its last fiscal year (July 2021 to June 2022), the club welcomed a record-breaking 217 new families into its membership, up from 169 new members the previous year and 105 new members in 2019-2020. Total membership for the last fiscal year peaked at 773 member families in September 2021.

"The Newcomers Club has nearly doubled in size since I joined in 2018," Crawford said in a news release. "I think the strength of the organization speaks volumes to the New Canaan community as a whole; that our town attracts active and engaged residents and we collectively are thrilled to welcome new neighbors to the community."

The Newcomers Club Board is currently working on planning a robust calendar with its time-honored social events for women, men, couples, children and families. Activities include children’s playgroups, working women’s happy hours, craft and gardening clubs, sports activities, book and supper clubs, parties and meetups and much more.

In response to the growth over the past few years, Newcomers Club has recently launched a number of new initiatives in 2022, including expansion of its mom groups, addition of an International Club, creation of a Men’s Softball Team, launching of WineTasters Club and an increase in its charitable partnerships.
