League of Women Voters Cancels First Selectman Candidate Debate
The forum will go on without the first selectman portion on Oct. 19.

The League of Women Voters decided not to hold an empty chair debate and will not have a first selectman section at its Oct. 19 forum.
First Selectman Rob Mallozzi said several weeks ago he wouldn’t participate in the debate for several reasons, including that he didn’t want to give petitioning candidate Michael Nowacki a platform for his personal agenda, according to the New Canaanite.
The league’s policy prohibits empty chair debates where only one candidate for a position participates.
