Obituary: Stephen Bassock, 89, Of New Canaan

Stephen A. Bassock, 89, passed away on November 16, 2022. Stephen was born on September 26, 1933 in New York City and resided in New Canaan, CT.
He graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.

From 1973 to 1988, Stephen was President and Director of MKI Securities Corp., a New York Stock Exchange member brokerage firm specializing in fixed-income securities that sold to London based International City Holdings ("ICH"). From 1986 to 1988, he was a Director at ICH, a worldwide money broker and securities firm, and the Chairman of its worldwide securities subsidiaries. He was then a General Partner at Patriot Securities, an inter-dealer broker in mortgage-backed Securities in New York City from 1991 until it was sold to Liberty Brokers in 1993.
Stephen was also a large contributor to many charitable organizations, including Children of Bellevue Hospital, City Harvest, Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, and the New Canaan Library.

He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a proud member of the Pawling Mountain Hunt Club in New York, as well as the Charlie Russel Riders.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife Sharon, sons Jeffrey Bassock (Pammie) and Bruce Bassock, three grandchildren Stephanie, Brett, Danielle, sister Sandy Green, brother Michael Bassock and his dog Boomer.
