Outback Teen Center Building Structure Declared Unsound

The town owns the property after a non-profit that ran the center folded.

NEW CANAAN, CT—Officials have declared that the building that previously housed the Outback Teen Center was poorly constructed and will be closed to the public due to its unsound nature.

A number of beams in the building are cracked, warped or twisted, according to the New Canaanite.

The town inherited the building July 1 after the non-profit that ran the center folded.

First Selectman Robert Mallozzi ordered the building to be inspected after the town took possession of it.
