Paving Equipment Burns New Canaan Trees: Report

NEW CANAAN, CT—About 75 trees in town have been damaged by hot road paving machines.

The town is in the middle of a road resurfacing project and apparently the machines give off enough heat to damage nearby trees and shrubs, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

Town officials said the damage is a slight burn and the trees should be fine.

Another tree care expert interviewed by the Advertiser said that limbs will have to be pruned back to undamaged parts.
