
Operator Arrested After Allegedly Fleeing Accident
A New York man was arrested after he allegedly ran into a utility pole in New Canaan with his vehicle and fled the scene.
The man rammed into the Route 123 pole with his GMC Yukon Denali on Aug. 27, police said. The accident knocked down the pole and closed the road.

Paul Mangieri, 33, of South Salam, NY contacted police to say he was involved and left the scene, according to police.
He was arrested and charged with evading responsibility and failure to maintain a proper lane. He was released on a $500 bond.

Air Freshener Leads to Pot Infraction
An officer pulled over a vehicle in the area of Lakeview Avenue and New Norwalk Road on Aug. 24 due to a large air freshener obstructing the operator’s view, police said.
A subsequent search with K-9 Apollo yielded a small amount of marijuana.
The operator was charged with an infraction for obstructed view, not carrying insurance card and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
