PD: Man Gives Brother's Name During New Canaan DUI Arrest
Holiday dinner could be awkward between brothers this year.

A Stamford man was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, but he got into even more trouble when he tried to impersonate his brother, police said.
Officers observed a parked vehicle on Ponus Ridge Road on Dec. 10 around 3:30 a.m. The operator was asleep and the vehicle was on and in gear, police said.
Officers woke up the man, later identified as John Lauture, 39. They smelled alcohol on his breath and Lauture failed a field sobriety test, police said.
During the arrest process Lauture handed officers his brother’s license and signed paperwork under his brother’s name, police said.
Police learned of this when his brother came to bail him out of jail and identified himself.
Lauture said he was on probation for a federal drug arrest and didn’t want to get into more trouble, police said.
He was charged with DUI, operating under a suspended license, failure to drive in the established lane, criminal impersonation, second-degree forgery and interfering with an officer. Bond was posted for $265 and $1,000.
