PD: Man's Debit Cards, Cash Taken Right Under Dog's Nose in New Canaan

The man said he ran into a store to purchase some items and within five minutes items were taken from his car as his dog sat in the A/C.

The worst guard dog in New Canaan might’ve been found.

A New Canaan man reported that his debit cards, $300 and driver’s license were stolen from his car within a five-minute window.

The man went to the Food Emporium on August 23 and left his car on and unlocked with the air conditioning on to keep his dog cool, police said. He went into the store and quickly realized he had left his wallet in the car.

When he returned to his car he found that his wallet was still there, but a plastic insert containing $300, two debit cards and his license were stolen. The theft happened between 12:15 and 12:20 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
