Police Launch 'Untimely Death' Investigation At New Canaan's Talmadge Hill Train Station
New Canaan police were called to the station on Wednesday evening.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The body of a 56-year-old New Canaan man was found Wednesday evening next to his car in the parking lot of the Talmadge Hill train station, suffering from what police said "appears to be a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound."
New Canaan police were called to the upper parking lot of the station just before 6 p.m., on a report of "a male who might be in distress."
When officers arrived, they found the man, whose identity has not been released, outside of his vehicle.

"Upon arriving, responding officers located the male who had suffered what appears to be a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound." wrote police in a statement. "The New Canaan Police are still actively investigating this incident and no further information will be released at this time."
Though the incident involved a gun, police added, "It should be noted that this is an isolated incident and no danger exists to any other members of the public."
