Report: Bobcat Sighting in New Canaan, Decapitated Rabbit Found in Town
A cat is also under home quarantine and some residents are concerned about some dog owners not picking up after their pets.

The latest animal news in New Canaan involves a bobcat sighting, the discovery of a headless rabbit, not picking up after dogs go the bathroom, and a cat under home quarantine after biting its owner.
First, a decapitated rabbit was found recently near a Richmond Hill property, but animal control officials say it’s the work of a hawk and not foul play, reports Michael Dinan of the New Canaanite.
Second, a bobcat was seen on April 8 on Wahackme Road and animal control staff say there are two confirmed bobcat sightings in town, one on the Ponus side of town, and the other near Gerdes Road, Dinan reports.

Thirdly, Avalon New Canaan residents have raised concerns that Millport Avenue dog owners are not cleaning up after their animals go to the bathroom, according to animal control.
Lastly, a Ridge Road family’s cat is under home quarantine after biting its owner, Dinan reports.
