Romeo D'Amario, 87, Native of Italy and 45-year New Canaan Resident
"He loved hunting and gardening but above all else his family." A wake will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday; his funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Romeo D’Amario, age 87, a New Canaan resident for over 45 years died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital with his loving family by his side, after a brief illness.
Born in Settefrati, Italy, March 5, 1927 he was the son of the late Federico and Pasqua Fanone D’Amario. Romeo was the husband of Triestina Socci D’Amario.
Romeo served in the Italian military in Padua, Italy. He loved hunting and gardening but above all else his family.

In addition to his wife Romeo is survived by two sons, Renato D’Amario of Denver , CO, and Oliver D’Amario of Fairfield; two daughters, Franca Masi and her husband Joseph of Fishkill, NY, and Maria DiSilvio and her husband Robert of Kirkland, WA; one brother Maurizio D’Amario of Toronto.
In addition he is survived by seven grandchildren, Anthony D’Amario, Christine DiSilvio, Tina Masi, Christopher Masi, Jamie MacFarland, Heather Zambarda , Danielle DeVore, Two great-grandchildren Michael MacFarland and Hunter DeVore. Romeo was predeceased by two brothers, Antonio and Tomasso, and two sisters, Delphina Caira and Donata Socci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Nov. 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan. Entombment will be in St John Cemetery, Norwalk. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, on Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m.
