As a culminating activity after studying about Columbus Day, the students at Playland Nursery School had the opportunity to go boating on the Playland pond. During this unit of study, students learned about Columbus’ voyage, explored the concept of sink and float, acted out a “Columbus Musical”, and built their own Styrofoam boats.
