NC Color Run - April 27

The Third Annual NC Color Run is on Saturday, April 27 at 9am at New Canaan High School, rain or shine. This is a rare opportunity for the whole community to come together as students and adults will run/walk in either the Kids’ Color Dash (.8 miles) or the NC Color Run (5K).

What is the NC Color Run? It’s a fundraising run/walk where color powdered washable paint is thrown in the air at the start of the race and at five different color stations (pink, green, red, blue, and orange) along the route. Runners get covered in color for a rainbow effect.

How to Register:To register online for the NC Color Run, go to www.nchs-sf.org. The cost to register is $35 for each individual and $130 per family through April 26. Day-of registration opens at 8am, with an additional cost of $10 for each individual. Ages 5 and under are free! A registration packet includes NC Color Run T-shirt, sunglasses, wristband, and paint powder packet. Registration packet pickup will be on April 24, April 25, and April 26 from 11:00am to 3:00pm in the NCHS Lobby or at registration the day of the race. Due to the large number of registrants, we strongly urge to pick up during the designated dates prior to the race.

Where do my fundraising dollars go? Proceeds from the NC Color Run will be go towards college scholarships for 2019 New Canaan High School graduates via the New Canaan High School Scholarship Foundation (NCSF). Last year, 59 New Canaan High School students qualified for need-based college scholarships. On average, NCSF was able to provide less than $2,000 in aid for each of these students. Compared to the support of the communities in our neighboring towns, we are far behind. We want to do better for our students!

Thank you to the Start/Finish Sponsor April + Kelly at William Raveis; our Color Station Sponsors, Karl Chevrolet, New Canaan Community Foundation, Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists, Walter Stewarts’s Market; our Water Station Sponsors, Francos Wine Merchants, Source It, Stamford Health, Silver Hill Hospital, Club Sandwich; our Friends Sponsors, Andrea Chalon, New Canaan Advertiser, and Joe’s Pizza.
