Saxe Project May Get Vote in November

The project could be voted on as soon as Nov. 10.

First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III said the town’s Board of Finance may vote on the proposed $18.6 million Saxe Middle School project as early as Nov. 10.

There is uncertainty about the town’s ability to issue bonds after the Audit Committee said it wouldn’t stand behind town financial statements, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

Mallozzi told the building committee via email that the Board of Education can reveal its last best offer for teacher wages, which would allow a ranged estimate on teacher costs.
